How to Measure Your Windows

Step-by-step guide for accurate measurements

1

Measure the Frame Depth

Place your tape measure on the front edge of the window frame and measure straight back toward the window glass. This is the depth of the recess.

2.5" or deeper

Inside mount. Shutters fit inside the frame. No extra frame needed. Proceed to step 2.

Less than 2.5"

Outside mount. We add a decorative frame around the window. Proceed to step 2.

2

Measure Width & Height

How you measure depends on your mount type from Step 1:

✓ Depth ≥ 2.5"
Inside Mount
WIDTHHEIGHT

Measure inside the frame

Take 3 measurements each for width & height — use the smallest value

✓ Depth < 2.5"
Outside Mount
DECO FRAMEWIDTHHEIGHT

Measure outside the deco frame

Edge to edge — the deco frame sits over the existing window frame

3

Repeat for Each Window

Every window is different — measure each one separately, in inches.

💡 Tips: Use a metal tape measure • Round to nearest ¼" • Don't stress — we take final measurements during your free consultation
