Absolutely. California shutters are one of the safest window coverings for homes with children and pets. Unlike blinds with dangling cords, shutters operate with a simple tilt rod or push mechanism. There are no loose strings or chains that could pose a strangulation hazard.
Very easy. Simply wipe the louvers with a damp cloth or use a feather duster. Unlike fabric blinds that trap dust and allergens, shutters have smooth surfaces that are quick to clean. For deeper cleaning, a mild soap and water solution works perfectly.
Inside mount shutters are installed within the window frame for a clean, built-in look. Outside mount shutters are mounted on the wall around the window, which is ideal when the window frame is too shallow or you want to make the window appear larger. Outside mount requires an additional frame ($5 per linear foot of perimeter).
Most installations are completed in one day. A typical home with 5-10 windows takes about 3-4 hours. We handle everything from measurement to final adjustment, and we clean up after ourselves.
